Minnesota Conference Administration Responds to General Conference Annual Council Executive Committee Vote

As you may know, the General Conference Annual Council Executive Committee met on October 14, 2018 to discuss and vote a recommendation from the church’s Unity Oversight Committee. This recommendation creates a new compliance process that assists with implementation of church policies and voted actions. This recommendation was reviewed and argued for more than five hours. The vote in favor of the recommendation passed at 185 to 124, with two abstentions. This vote has far reaching impact to the World Church for a myriad of reasons.

The Minnesota Conference administration has been closely monitoring this development. In Minnesota, we strive to help people meet Jesus through various personal and corporate evangelistic efforts. Our focus remains ever the same – that Jesus be lifted up. As we consider how this vote affects the world church, we ask that each and every member hold the world church, the division, and specifically the Minnesota Conference up in prayer.

The Administration will continue to monitor the situation and will be providing further details regarding our response to the vote in the near future. In the meantime, should you desire further information, please visit adventist.org or youtube.com.

Thank you for your continued support of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and thank you for your prayers.
