New Pastors to Join the Minnesota Conference

MatthewBaker-2651_170130-Pastor Matthew Baker began his ministry in the St. Paul District, which includes the St. Paul Eastside and St. Paul First churches. Matthew is a graduate of Southern Adventist University. He comes to us with evangelism field school experience having conducted evangelist meetings, preaching series that incorporated the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Church. He also worked as a bible worker with Amazing Facts giving bible studies. Pastor Baker and his wife Nita are excited about Multicultural ministry.

Elizabeth McDonaldPastor Elizabeth McDonald is the Associate Pastor of the Minnetonka Church. Elizabeth is a graduate of Union College in Nebraska. She had a very active role in the women’s dormitory, Campus Ministries, and the Religion department. Elizabeth was involved in creating a bridge between Campus Ministries and the Religion department by involving students in the planning of activities and programs. She did her internship with Piedmont Park SDA church. She comes to us with a wealth of Young Adult Ministry experience from Union College.

Kwan's Family PicPastor Nakwan Kitching will serve Minneapolis First Church.  His friends call him “Kwan.”  He is a graduate of Oakwood University and more recently from the SDA Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs with Master of Divinity.  He comes with field school evangelism, conducting home bible studies and small group work. His wife, Camille happens to have grown up in Minnesota.  They have a daughter Nicolle.

 

Daniel Hauck will be mentored by Pastor Jared Little. He also will be taking on the assignment to plant a second Hmong congregation.  Daniel is a recent graduate from Union College.  His wife, Traci, is from St. Paul.  They met at Union College.

 

District Realignments, Changes and Openings

Pastor Gene Yocum comes to us from Central States Conference, he will serve as pastor for both the Arlington Church and the Connections Center Church. He is a bi-vocational pastor.

Brian Beavers (BW River Bluff Dist)

 

Pastor Brian Beavers will pastor the Faribault, Highland Chapel, LeCenter, Owatonna, Red Wing, and Winona, congregations.

 


Jared Little (Pastor The Way)


Pastor Jared Little
will pastor the Maple Plain, The Way, and Westview Churches. He will also coach Daniel Hauck, a church planter who will lead out in planting a second Hmong congregation.

Bill Nixon (Faribault pastor)

 

Pastor Bill Nixon will pastor for ACTS Church, Countryside Christian Center, Lakes Area, Litchfield, and New London Churches.

 

Karen Lewis (Stillwater pastor)

 

Pastor Karen Lewis will pastor the Hinckley, Pathways, and Stillwater churches as well as continuing to serve as Church Ministries Director.

 

Fred Crowell (Detroit Lakes pastor)

 

Pastor Fred Crowell will retire very soon from the Detroit Lakes district. That district includes:  Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, and Moorhead.

 

Sean Lee (Pastor Southview & Conf Youth)

 

Pastor Sean Lee became Senior Pastor at Southview Church. Southview Church now has an opening for an associate pastor.

 

Sang ho Choi (Korean Pastor)

 

Pastor Sang Ho Choi pastor of the Minneapolis Korean Church has announced that he has accepted a call to the Allegheny East Conference.

 

Brainerd District is still looking for a pastor. That district includes: Aitkin, Brainerd, Staples, and Wadena.
