Third Generation Baby Dedication. On May 9, 2017 at the St. Paul Eastside Seventh-day Adventist Church, a baby dedication was held. It was special to me because a third generation of my family was dedicated. Carlos and Lois Garner Rodriguez had the privilege of their daughter Felicia, their granddaughter Morgan and their new great grandson, Jonathan, dedicated at the Eastside SDA Church. Felicia was baptized at Eastside SDA and attended Capital City Adventist Christian School. Jonathan’s dedication was performed by Elder Koami DaCruz. Submitted by Lois Rodriguez

Staffing Changes in the Conference

Gift Planning & Trust Services Director, Property Manager

5 - Sims headshotThe Minnesota Conference administration is excited to welcome Michael Sims as the new Gift Planning and Trust Services Director and Property Manager.

Michael comes to us from Atlanta, Georgia, where he most recently owned a professional photography and videography business. Prior to this, he served as a pastor for eight years in the Georgia-Cumberland and Chesapeake Conferences. Michael also has training and certification in financial services and life insurance, as well as having completed several courses toward dual master’s degrees in business administration and information systems.

When asked what drew him to the Minnesota Conference, Michael said, “I’m excited about the focus on discipleship, and reaching out in creative ways to evangelize various people groups.” He also shared that the Conference office environment comes across as a family, and that was very appealing.

In his free time, Michael enjoys nature photography, hiking, backpacking and learning about God’s creation. One of his passions is sharing with others the abundant scientific evidence supporting the biblical account of origins.

Stewardship Director, African Coordinator

Brian Mungundi (MN Conference)With the recent changes in staffing at the Conference, the Administration did some strategic planning to better provide resources to our constituents. With that in mind, Elder Brian Mungandi, current Vice President for Administration and Sabbath School Coordinator, has agreed to take on the additional responsibilities of Stewardship Director and African Coordinator.

As the Stewardship Director, Brian will be providing training, sermons and support to educate and encourage members in the importance of stewardship. As African Coordinator, Brian will support the African pastors and their various ministries by providing coordination and sharing with other Conference Administrators the needs and triumphs of the African ministries throughout Minnesota.
