On Sabbath, April 16, 2016, The Edge hosted a concert featuring Zelit Leite, a pianist from Brazil now living at Andrews University. Zelit performed during the church service and then later at the concert. Zelit was inspired to perform full time because of his daughter who was diagnosed with Autism. Music has been a way to communicate with her.
Sunday, April 17, 2016, several members of The Edge went to a downtown laundromat as part of the NAD’s Day of Hope and Compassion initiative. The members gave patrons of the laundromat money in order to do one load of wash per person. Along with the free quarters, the members gave out water, snacks and reading materials. Some members were also able to have conversations with patrons on various topics. Patrons were at first skeptical of our motives, but later on they were more than pleased that people were willing to do a small act for someone else and expect nothing in return.
