And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (Ephesians 4:11-12)
On November 24th 2012, Rock of Ages SDA was launched in style at Savage, Minnesota. Our goal was to see us organized as a full fletched church by God’s grace in a period of one year and to return a tithe of not less than $ 65,000.00. This dream seemed impossible to many, with the exception of me. How come?
When planting Rock of Ages, I knew without any doubts that we had all that we needed to succeed.
- We had God on our side
- We had total support of the conference
- We had a very dedicated group of pioneers with a passion for souls.
- Going by Ephesians 4:11-12, God in His great mercy blessed me with the ability to plant and grow mixed congregations, administration, discernment and visitation.
- A good accessible location and a beautiful worship place
During the year, we went from door to door in the neighborhood distributing literature, we started a nursing home visitation program, we ran good programs catered for all age groups, we visited prospective church members, we had a delicious potluck once a month, and we had a very successful evangelistic crusade. As a result, we were organized as a full fletched church in a period of six months, we had 19 baptisms and we exceeded our tithe goal. In addition, we also have a dynamic mixed congregation.
As we begin the year 2014, our uttermost desire is to grow Rock of Ages to 200 strong and dedicated members and to double our tithe return. In addition, we have embarked on a campaign to raise up to $ 100,000.00 to help us buy our own church building. We ask you to pray for us. If you have time, visit us: We hold services at:
