For the time you have, be grateful.
For the trials and tears, be thankful.
For inside of you, a structure is rising.
That Mystery called God is revising
what sin did to your soul.
Testing and tearing and the cruelty you know,
Now through Love is turning a coal to obsidian,
a speck of sand to a resplendent pearl.
Sometimes it will sting and rub against your grain,
But trust that His mercy will make you better through pain.
He will help you find joy and wipe away your earthly shame.
